MEDIA / NEWSE. A. R. T. H. Awareness of Brevard, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation of creative outlets and natural experiences for the youth of Florida. To assist Music, art & drama programs in our schools and to educate children about preservation of the arts & Mother Nature. The goal of our fund raising efforts is to produce an annual family festival with an emphasis on the needs of our elementary school music programs and to fund our direct-to-teacher classroom supply program for the arts in the Central Florida Schools. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 2011 CAPE VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM WILL BENEFIT FROM THE SPACE COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL Cape Canaveral, FL: E.A.R.T.H. Awareness, Jack Link & Associates and The City of Cape Canaveral are preparing for September 24th when the City of Cape Canaveral will be hosting the Space Coast Music Festival, a benefit for E.A.R.T.H. Awareness’s music in the schools program. This year’s school chosen by last year’s recipient Derrick Blassingame, is Cape View Elementary School. Aside from the big stage talent and the beautiful waterfront setting, the event will feature a renowned and diverse array of critically acclaimed art, craft and food vendors. The Space Coast Music Festival will be held at Manatee Sanctuary Park, at 701 Thurm Boulevard in Cape Canaveral. Admission is Free but we will be accepting donations at the gate to enjoy 10 hours of non stop music. 2 stages of continuous music will feature top notch talent filling the day with great music. The Bone Dogs, The Queen Bees, The MC’s, Mo Geetz, The Gilroy’s, Danny Morris Band, Overload, Zen Again, The Tourist, Vince Baldino, Dave Grooms, Jon Parrot, Chris McCune and Tina Eno are all scheduled to perform. E.A.R.T.H. Awareness is Entertainers Against Ruining Their Home. A group of entertainment industry professionals, dedicated to the preservation of creative outlets and natural experiences for the youth of Central Florida. E.A.R.T.H. Awareness was created to promote quality family time in a natural setting, with programs in music, art, drama, planet-protecting education, and fun. The organization raises funds to help with their "The Music in The Schools Program", a direct-to-teacher classroom supply program for art, music, and drama, programs in Central Florida schools. We make lasting memories of fun educational experiences, and teach families and children how to make a creative difference for the future. The preservation of roots music is a key component to E.A.R.T.H.'S programs. EARTH has donated over $50,000 in musical instruments and equipment to Brevard county schools since 2000, this fundraiser is to assist EARTH in purchasing instruments for Cape View Elementary School, in Cape Canaveral. Our goal is to purchase new instruments for this school, so the children can have hands on musical experiences in their classroom. Cape View Elementary is a title 1 school and many of the children in this school are on subsidized lunch. Cape View Elementary has minimal instruments in their music program. The music teacher receives a minimal budget per year for music instruments & supplies. Help us help this wonderful school. Non-Stop Music, all weekend long, is the goal of this years festivities The festivities will kick off with a VIP Cocktail Party, Friday, September 23rd from 6 PM to 10 PM. The music festival will be held on Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM. There will also be a music memorabilia silent auction, raffles, and more fun awaiting our music fans. Make sure to buy your chance to win a Warren Haynes Autographed guitar. From 10 PM to 1 AM an after festival jam will feature the performers from the event mixing it up. EARTH Awareness loves kids and passing on the tradition of the wonderful musicians who have gone before us. Giving music to area elementary school children is a way to honor their memory and their love for traditional music. The list of supporting organizations involved for the event is growing, Our Site Host, The City of Cape Canaveral, Jack Link & Associates, Clear Channel Brevard, WFIT 89.5 Radio, The Beach Shack, Space Coast Live, The Beachside Resident, Brevard Live and Wynfield’s are just a few who are already on board. We feel all children need the hope of music. The Music Community is coming together to ensure all children have creative outlets and learn wonderful musical traditions.There will be kid's activities. A make your own instrument workshop will be held from Noon to 4 PM. Kids will be able to make their own egg shakers, brightly decorate them and take them home for lasting musical moments. E.A.R.T.H. is completely supported by contributions from the community and all contributions are tax deductible. All proceeds donated to E.A.R.T.H. are used to enhance the lives of creative young minds and for E.A.R.T.H. Awareness Youth Arts Programs. On August 1st, 2010 AEG Live, GLA- GPE w/ Earth Awareness will be presenting jam greats Gov’t Mule w/ Jackie Greene and The Bone Dogs at the Riverfront Park in Cocoa, FL. Gov't Mule (pronounced Government Mule) is a Southern rock band formed in 1994 as an Allman Brothers Band side project by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody. With 2 million paid song downloads through their site MuleTracks, seven critically acclaimed studio records already released, a handful of DVDs and live albums, plus an ever-expanding fanbase and sold-out coast-to-coast tours, Gov't Mule could easily rest on its laurels. Yet when you're in one of the hardest working bands in rock history, pushing yourself to greater heights always supersedes cashing in on past successes. The organizations mission is to preserve arts programming in our schools and pass on the culture and the traditions of American roots music and other youth based activities. The days festivities will help raise funds for the Stephen Miller “Music in the Schools Program” in Brevard County Elementary Schools. This year, we have selected the University Park Elementary School Music Program as the beneficiary of the Biker and Blues Bash. This school has minimal instruments in their music program. Our goal is to purchase new instruments for this school, so the children can have hands on musical experiences in their classroom. University Park Elementary is a title 1 school and approximately 80% of the children in this school are on subsidized lunch. The music teacher receives $1 per student per year for music supplies. Help us help this wonderful school. Stephen Miller loved kids and passing on his tradition of music to area elementary school children is a way to honor his memory and his love for traditional blues music. Steve played with many national acts including Earl Hooker, John Lee Hooker, Elvin Bishop, The Allman Brothers and Grinder Switch (to name just a few). Steve was instrumental in bringing traditional blues music to the Florida Space Coast. Steve was one of the founding members and the Hammond player for our own blues legend “The Groove Monsters”. Saturday's lineup will include a list of talented musicians, who had the privilege of performing and learning from Steve, along with national and regional artist. The Biker & Blues Bash will be held at Milliken’s Reef in Port Canaveral.. There is a requested donation at the door to enjoy 8 hours of non stop music. What an incredible day of music, paying tribute to the Blues”. The lineup so far includes The Bone Dogs, Steve Thorpe Blues Orchestra , Big Banana River Band and this years headliner, John Lee Hooker, Jr. passing on his fathers tradition of music.
