Information For Student Art Exhibitors

This program is open to all students grades K thru 12. 2 entries per student allowed, unlimited entries per school. The subject matter of the artwork should relate to Earth awareness and mother nature. Artwork submitted must be an original concept, the entry may not reproduce an image from a third party. The work may not violate the U.S. copyright laws, entries may not be of any existing art or photograph. Preperation: Artwork must be submitted ready to hang with hanging tabs on the back side or ready to display on a table. Theater Flats will be used to exhibit 2 D art.

Suitability: All entries must be suitable for exhibition. The following would be considered unsuitable art pieces for the competition. Nude or partially nude entries. Sexually suggestive depections. Positive depictions of drugs, alcohol, gang or gang related symbols. Offensive religious depictions. Scenes of violence or gruesome depictions. Exhibitor Setup: is available beginning 8 am, Saturday, 10/9/04.. If you require setup prior to that time, please notify us immediately. All participants are required to leave exhibit open during the Festival hours. Festival  hours of operation are Saturday 10/9/04 :11am to 10 pm;  Student Exhibit may be manned but it is not required.

Pick up of Artwork: With the exception of the winning entries, Artwork may be picked up at 8:00 PM on Sunday October 10 at Kiwanis Island Park. Artwork delivered thru the school will be returned to the school. Please be sure to secure your name and phone number on the back or bottom of your artwork on a 3 x 5 card. Artwork that is left with no name or phone number will be kept for 15 days after the festival and may be claimed by calling EARTH Awareness at 321-784-0830, no later than October 24, 2004.

3 age groups may participate. Elementary : Grades K thru 3 & Grades 4 thru 6, Junior / Senior : Grades 7 thru 12

2 categories of Art Work:

2 D - Pencil, Pen & Ink, Watercolor, Pastels, Oils, Photography, Computer Graphics,etc.

3 D - Sculpture, Pottery, Fabric, Weaving, Collages, Wood carving, etc. $500 in Cash & Prizes will be awarded.

Best of Show - $100 Cash, 6 First Place Awards - 2 categories - 3 age groups - $50 each, 4 Second Place Awards - Elementary and Jr. / Sr. in 2 categories - $25 each, Ribbons will also be awarded.

All entries will be evaluated by a panel of 3 judges on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 PM. Winning Entries will be announced on Saturday at 4:00 PM from the Acoustic Stage. Cash and Prizes will be awarded at that time if the participant is in attendance. If the participant is not in attendance he or she will be notified by phone the week following the festival and arrangements will be made to pick up the prize awarded.
